Customer Rules & Care Policy

Email: littlelaundrygoose@gmail.com Phone: 0494 550 187

Little Laundry Goose is a small, independently operated laundry service run by one person.

Your laundry is collected, washed, dried, folded, ironed where requested, quality checked and returned by me wherever possible.

Being a solo-operated service allows me to provide personal and consistent care for each customer's laundry.

Because I operate the service independently, very large orders, unusually busy periods, bulky items or unexpected circumstances may occasionally require additional turnaround time. If this happens, I will let you know as early as possible.

My standard turnaround target is approximately 24 hours for normal orders within my usual daily capacity.

Pricing

For current laundry, ironing, blanket and doona prices, pickup and delivery fees, and optional wash charges, please see the Prices section on the main page. I will weigh your laundry after collection and confirm the final price and any additional separate-load charges with you before washing begins.

1. How to Prepare Your Laundry for Collection

I like to keep collection simple and flexible.

Your laundry can be provided in whatever is easiest for you, including:

Please make sure your laundry is securely contained and ready for collection at the agreed time.

Where possible, please keep any special-care items separate and let me know about them before collection.

2. Please Empty All Pockets

Customers are responsible for checking and emptying all pockets before laundry is collected.

This includes removing items such as:

I will take reasonable care when sorting your laundry, but I cannot guarantee that every pocket will be checked before washing.

Items left inside pockets can damage the garment itself, other garments or my equipment. Please tell me promptly if you realise something has been left in a pocket. I will take reasonable care when handling your laundry. Any concern about loss or damage will be assessed on its circumstances and in accordance with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

3. Stains & Minor Stain Treatment

I will provide reasonable minor stain treatment where appropriate, but stain removal cannot be guaranteed.

Some stains may already be permanently set because of:

Little Laundry Goose is based around practical, home-style laundry care rather than specialist commercial stain removal or dry cleaning.

Where I believe it may help and the garment is suitable, I may use natural sunlight as part of the drying or stain-care process instead of placing the item directly into the dryer.

This is weather-dependent and will only be done where I believe sunlight is suitable for the particular fabric and item.

Sunlight and minor stain treatment may assist with some stains, but results cannot be guaranteed.

4. Care Labels

Where a garment has a readable care label, I will make reasonable efforts to follow the manufacturer's washing and drying instructions.

If an item:

I may:

Items marked Dry Clean Only will not be processed through my normal laundry service.

Please tell me before collection about any garments that require special handling.

5. Whites, Colours & Separate Loads

My normal wash setting for everyday laundry is a cold wash, unless a care label or an agreed customer request requires otherwise.

Cold washing can help reduce colour fading, shrinkage and dye transfer, but it cannot guarantee that colours will not run.

Unless you request otherwise, suitable everyday coloured garments may be washed together using my normal cold-wash process, with reasonable care taken when sorting your order.

New & Colour-Risk Items

Please let me know before washing if an item:

New clothing, dark garments, brightly coloured items and some fabrics may release excess dye, particularly during their first few washes.

Undisclosed new or unstable garments can release dye and affect other items. Please tell me about known colour risks so I can take suitable precautions. I will take reasonable care when sorting and washing your laundry. Any concern about colour transfer will be assessed on its circumstances and in accordance with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If I notice an item that appears likely to release colour, I may set it aside and contact you before processing it.

Requested Separate Washing

If you specifically request that whites, colours, darks, towels, workwear, delicates or other categories are washed separately, I am happy to do this where practical.

Where your request requires an additional washing-machine load, a $5 surcharge applies for each additional separate wash load.

For example, if 6 kg of laundry could normally be processed together but you request:

to be washed separately, the second wash load would attract an additional $5 charge.

If your request creates two additional wash loads, the surcharge would be $10, and so on.

I will confirm any additional separate-load charge with you before washing begins.

This charge helps cover the additional water, detergent, electricity, machine use, drying and handling required for separate loads.

6. Pre-Existing Damage

Please let me know about any known damage before collection.

This may include:

Normal washing and drying can sometimes make existing wear or damage more noticeable.

Pre-existing damage, age, weakened fabric, incorrect care labels and normal wear and tear may affect how an item responds to washing and drying. I will take reasonable care when processing your laundry. Any concern about deterioration or damage will be assessed on its circumstances and in accordance with your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If I notice significant damage before washing, I may contact you before proceeding.

7. Items I Do Not Accept

For safety and to protect your laundry, other customer orders and my equipment, I may refuse items including:

If I am unsure about an item, I will discuss it with you before processing it.

8. Turnaround Time

My standard target turnaround is:

Approximately 24 hours from collection.

This applies to normal orders within my usual daily processing capacity.

Orders over approximately 25 kg, large quantities of linen, bulky items, blankets, doonas, extensive ironing, multiple separate wash loads or items requiring special handling may need additional time.

Weather may also affect turnaround where natural sunlight or line drying is being used.

If your order is likely to take longer than expected, I will let you know.

9. Large Orders & Bulky Items

Large loads, blankets, doonas and bulky linen may be processed using larger commercial machines at a local laundromat where this provides more suitable capacity and care.

I will still manage your order personally from collection through to return.

Blankets and doonas are priced per item, separately from standard laundry. Please see the Prices section on the main page for rates. Heavy, weighted or unusual items require a quote.

10. Pickups, Deliveries & Weekly Repeat Customers

My standard pickup and delivery fee is $10.

Pickup and delivery are free if either condition is met:

What is a Weekly Repeat Customer?

A weekly repeat customer is someone who books Little Laundry Goose on a regular ongoing weekly basis, generally once each week.

This means you either have an agreed recurring weekly collection or regularly place a laundry order each week, rather than using the service occasionally.

Weekly repeat customers receive free pickup and delivery as a thank-you for supporting my small business consistently.

There is no long-term contract required.

If you need to skip an occasional week because of holidays, illness or another reasonable reason, simply let me know.

If regular weekly orders stop or become occasional, the normal pickup and delivery fee may apply again.

11. Missed Pickups & Deliveries

Changes & Cancellations

Need to change or cancel a pickup? Please contact me as soon as possible. Include your name, order number if you have one, and the pickup day. I’ll confirm the cancellation or let you know whether your requested change is available. Call or text 0494 550 187, or email littlelaundrygoose@gmail.com.

Missed Pickups

Please have your laundry ready at the agreed collection time.

If I arrive and:

I will attempt to contact you.

If collection cannot be completed, the pickup may need to be rescheduled.

Repeated missed collections may require the standard pickup/delivery fee to be paid before another collection is booked.

Missed Deliveries

I will arrange a delivery window or an agreed safe-drop location with you.

If nobody is available and no safe-drop instructions have been provided, I may need to return your laundry at another arranged time.

An additional delivery charge may apply where a second trip is required because the original agreed delivery could not be completed.

I will not leave laundry unattended unless you have given me permission to do so.

12. Customer Instructions

Please tell me before collection if you have any specific requirements, including:

I will do my best to follow reasonable instructions that are suitable for the garments and the service I provide.

Sensitive Wash

A Sensitive wash option is available for +$5 per wash.

Please request this before processing begins.

13. Ironing

Ironing is completed manually, piece by piece.

I do not use commercial press machines.

The ironing service is intended for everyday clothing, workwear, school uniforms and straightforward linen.

Please see the Prices section on the main page for ironing prices, item examples, the business shirt bundle and linen size limits.

Items with heavy beading, sequins, elaborate frills, puffed or highly structured sections, delicate embellishments or specialist pressing requirements may not be accepted.

If I am unsure whether an item can be safely ironed, I will check it first and let you know before proceeding.

14. My Approach

My goal with Little Laundry Goose is simple:

Careful, practical, home-style laundry care with convenient pickup and delivery.

As a solo operator, I personally manage your laundry through the process and aim to provide the same consistent care each time you use the service.

I will treat your laundry with care, communicate with you when something needs special attention and avoid processing an item where I believe there is a significant risk of damage.

Little Laundry Goose is designed to feel less like sending your clothes through a large commercial laundry and more like having someone take care of the washing for you at home.

15. Customer Rights & Concerns

Little Laundry Goose will provide its services with due care and skill. Nothing in this policy excludes, restricts or modifies your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

If you have a concern about your returned laundry, please contact me at littlelaundrygoose@gmail.com or 0494 550 187 so I can investigate and discuss an appropriate resolution. Any remedy required under the Australian Consumer Law will be provided.
